Default I need help!!!!

I have 2 questions....

1)Is this laptop for 150 dollars a good deal? Dell Latitude C640 - Penitum 4 2.0 GHz, 512 MB ram, 40GB Hard Drive, CD Rom (I may have a DVD-rom for it somewhere) Windows XP, Office XP

2)what is better a 512 MB ram or a 256 MB ram? is it the higher you go in numbers the better?

Please help me out, thanx

150 dollars is an extremely good price for that laptop, and yes 512 is better than 256. I take it its not from a retail shop or anything, cox 150 is really really cheap for all that powerful laptop.
