Yesterday I set my computer to scan the integrity of my hard disk and after the scan was done my computer wouldnt boot! It POSTS but then hangs on a black screen with a blinking light on the upper left. What should I do? I really would prefer not to format because I have all my music on there and I did not back it up.
Thanks for your help Dsk |

Why did you verify the integrity of your HD? What did your computer say after the scan was done about the HD?

I checked it because windows was acting funny and thats what a friend suggested I do. The scan took place after I restarted my computer and when it was done it restarted my computer a second time and then thats when the problem started. I got no messages or anything. Could this be a problem with hardware or would it be my OS?

Perhaps your HDD was dying and when you tested it, you over did it and killed it.
