Question zip file missing

ok this is really weird
i usually zip files to transfer them between my friends, but today when i turned on my computer, i right clicked on my desktop, selected new but compressed (zip) folder was missing, i tried restarting my computer, but no prevail
any ideas???

ya i used to have winrar, but it was only a trial, so i deleted it, maybe when i deleted winrar it took along that function of windows with it?? or did it delete the zip program that came with windows

well winrar was the default program and you uninstalled it, you would have to default it back to the zip program used by windows. however i suggest you just stick with winrar since a lot of things are zipped in rar format now.

if you noticed the evaluation for winrar just pops up but still works.
