its not connected via telephone line. the telephone jack should connect to the modem and then the ethernet cable should connect to your laptop. if you have the black speedsteam modem then the ethernet cable should be yellow.

buy yourself a wireless router,it will just be simpler over-all.

but if you don't want to do that, and u can't find any line-in thingy, u might just be screwed. so it will probably be easier to get a wireless router and use that wireless card.

I have the latitude cpi a. The laptop did come with a wireless card and I now have a wireless router. Bad news?? Cannot get the card to talk to the router or vis versa.............anyhow I am now online, but have purchased the pc card with the ethernet cat 6 adapter. I am plugged into the router and have internet access (typing this response on my laptop)

My card is by trend net and the router is by linksys..... wouldnt you know trendnet is out untill monday ...............?! Probably messed up the configuration but have spent hours trying to figure it out to no avail!!!

Any suggestions would be appreciated!!
