Yesterday, my computer was perfect... The monitor was working, and the speakers were working...
But when I restarted my computer, the screen blacked out after booting up, so I reinstalled windows, and everything works again... apart from the speakers... I get a message like this from winamp"Bad DirectSound driver. Please install proper drivers or select another device in configuration. Error code:88780078" from Real player. "The audio for this file cannot be played" Volume control doesnt even show the speaker volumes, it only shows one bar... called "Capture" (probably for mic) When I go to control panel, sounds and audio, on the audio tab, it says "No audio device installed" (my speakers are all connected) Please help... What shoudl i do? |

Hairy is right, you need to reinstall drivers. To make sure that is the case, go into device manager and you should see an exclamation point under sounds, etc. If you do, you know its your lack of drivers.

Not necessarily, drivers can be corrupt and not function but still be installed. The system would still report the device as running stable but its not actually functioning at all. Device manager is only good for seeing if a driver is actaull not there, not if its corrupt or domadged.
