My computer has a ATI Radeon X300SE PCI-Express preinstalled from the factory. Yesterday I just bought a ATI Radeon X800XL PCI_Express. Is installing this part hard? Also, have I made a good choice?
I want to play games on my HDTV, it has DVI in, the X800XL has DVI out. Currently I have just a composite video cable going from my X300SE to my HDTV, the picture sucks so much, you can't even read any text. Well is the X800XL a good choice for a upgrade?, Or should I return it for something better? I want a card that will last, and support games that may comeout thats more needy than BattleField2 Lastly, with my current setup, with the X800XL installed, will I beable to run BattleField 2 at the highest video setting without any lag? Thanks

The x800XL is a fine card and it will play BF2, and I wouldn't think it'll have trouble at the highest settings.

The DVI cable will also create a really nice picture on the HDTV compared to the composite video cable.

DVI due to the fact that it is all digital.

That should cover everything. That's what I used when installing my graphics card. Refer to this for details^ Yes uninstall drivers. When i didn't have any drivers my resolution changed and my screen skipped a little when scrolling. Shouldn't be a problem if shutting down immediately.
