Default Custom Build PC Problem

Hello forum! I come to you all once again with the idea of seeking useful advice. First off I want to thank everybody who has previously helped me get to this point.

Building a PC: I build my PC which consists of:

-1 780w PSu Sunbeam
-6GB DDR3 RAM (3x2)
-i7-930 Processor
-ASUS P6X58D Premium LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s (Mobo)
-500gb Sata hard drive

So this is my problem: I build the computer, turn it on and the monitor will not start up. I can't even get to BIOS! I thought it was the motherboard, possibly DOA or damaged. I returned the motherboard and got a new one and the same problem! I can turn on the computer and get the PSU to show the blue LED lights. I thought it was the video card so I swapped my old video card in and still, same problem

Does anybody have any information on this? My computer teacher said it could be a dead power supply but enough power to turn on the computer, any ideas?

Thanks

-Tiki

Is the RAM seated correctly? Does the monitor work with any other computers?

Yes the ram is seated correctly and the monitor does work with another computer.

I would swap the ram and see if it is the ram but non of my other PC's have DDR3 ram :-/

just try using one stick at a time. if you use one and it won't boot, use a different one. if it doesn't boot with all three then it probably isn't the ram.

Try what Joh06937 said with 1 stick. If it does not boot, try it with one of the other sticks. Hopefully it will work with one.

That's a great idea. My only question is, will I do any harm to my computer?

And, will it even start up with 1 stick of ram?

no harm should come of it and it will run with 1 stick.
