Angry need help with pc problem!

Hi, a few days ago i recieved the components for my pc and built it, for the first few days it worked like a dream.....no problems at all, when this morning i came to switch it on, fans switched on, hard drive and cd drive powered up, no signal to screen, and the pc seems to stay dormant, and wont switch off. At first i thought it may be the video card / cable, checked it no problems, then i thought, maybe the ram, once again checked it and even tried more ram, Still noting, and that is the extent of what i think it could be, please help me

this is my setup:

AMD Athlon 64 3000+
ASRock K8 uprgrade 1689
elixir 512mb 400mhz RAM
400w PSU
seagate barracuda 120gb hdd

any ideas would be great.

Does your screen just stay black? or does it give a no-signal sign?

reset computer. Yank out psu and push power button. Something similar often happens to me. All the fans are on right, just no monitor. Post checks cd-rom, etc. but instead of the screen coming on, the computer remains idle right?

Could be mobo, CPU, RAM, any number of things. First thing to try (just to see if it will POST) would be to reset the BIOS. Remove the battery or move the jumper, see if it POST's and post (har) back here with what goes on.
