I had a computer built for me a few years back. I know that there is a built in sound card on the mother board but I have never used it. I have always used external sound cards because I used my computer for recording. Well, I am giving this computer to a friend now but I am going to keep the external sound card. I need to know how to make the built in sound card on the processor work before I give the computer to my friend. I have an AMD Xp1700 with Windows XP. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Go into bios and enable onboard sound; then when you boot up it's either installed automatically or you can install the drivers
