Hi, members,

I am using WinXP. How do I protect my files or entire folder with password?

Thanks for advice! Regards.

You should use third party software such as hide it and protect or Hide Folder. There are trial version find in the net.

I've used FolderAccess before, you designate a password for it and then you can lock any folder, which would require that password to unlock (same password for all folders on the system). Haven't tried some of the others, but I know that one is free.

you could put them in an archive and password protect that. Cheap quick and easy

or make the folder hidden... (What I mean by this is ghosted, not buried in the directory)

just zip them and then encrypt them by adding a password, and if you dont want people to be able to see the files at all, not only not access them you will have to put them in a zip then zip the zip and add a password to encrpyt the outsided ziped file... if that makes any sense at all hahaah
here is a diagram

{zip with encryption
{zip
Main File
}
}
