I wanted to copy a picture from a manual and place it on the internet. I tried a digital camera, didn't work very well. I saw a pen type scanner, probably just for text? A single document page scanner won't work for me, I'm not going to tear the page from the book. I've never used a scanner as you can tell. I didn't want to buy the wrong thing. thanks

Two main type scanners are flat bed or hand held, may be hand held might be what you are looking for but requires a bit of practice and steady hand.
Have not seen a hand held for long time so it will be interesting if the still make them.
Enquire at your local computer shop.
