As for a company that builds good gaming PC's, I'd try either Alienware, iBuyPower (they built my PC), VoodooPC, Flacon Northwest, or maybe Cyberpower.
To build your own, however, it is not that simple. You have to select each and every part yourself and put it toghether, although with this route you can get more bang for your buck, since buying just the parts saves you $$$.
