I recently bought a new Compaq Presario SR1530IL and installed Windows XP professional. To my surprise, event though the Mother Board Intel 915 GV has built in sound card, No volum meter was shown in the task bar. The device manager shows a yellow circle next to the PCI Device. I tried to reinstall the driver from Internet and available driver list, it did not work. I also tried installing latest Realteck Audio drivers, it still did not work.
If I uninstall the device, Windows is able to pick the device during the hardware scan, but is not able to load the driver. Do somebody has any idea? Thanks in advance. Tanmay |

There should be a motherboard driver suite for your motherboard which would install drivers for everything on your mobo. I would visit intel's website and look for that and go from there. Good luck!

You'll actually need to contact Compac. Most companies don't support OEM devices from premade computer companies
