Default Adapters?

I have a USB printer (type B) and I need to connect it to a parallel intelligent printer switch to use it with all the computers. I am looking to buy a parallel to USB A adapter (designed to hook up a parallel printer to a USB port) and a USB B male to USB A female adapter to hook it into the printer. Will these adapters work no matter what, or will it not transfer the data correctly because it is going "backwards?" Or do I need to get a bi-directional cable like this?

Please help

Tim

edit: that was confusing

THIS from the printer hub,

and THIS to hook it into the printer

BTW, the printer is an HP CLJ MFP 2840, and the hub is a 6-port black box intelligent printer switch.

I really hope that yuns understand all that

One more thing

Will the drivers still install properly even if the printer is parallel not USB?

While your hack-job configuration should work (provided the male-females all lineup) ... wouldnt it be easier just to get the all-in-one solution? (especially if its only $10?)

Cheers ... not seen you in awhile

Sorry by all in one i mean something like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16812107111

If you're running legacy parallel mode you should be ok with unidirectional convertors ... not to sure what happens if/when u get to fancy parallel modes ... but if you get a bidirectional one, you shouldnt have to worry if you decide to connect things in unorthdodox manners

I have absolutely no idea

Will it work to use a this USB printer through a parallel port on an NT machine? I know that NT does not support USB, but is it the device or the actual connection that it does not support?
