Default can you change processors in dell computers

i was wondering if i could change my 2.8 GHz with HT and upgrade it to a 3.2 or 3.4 and if i would notice any difference in performance

you can, but two things
1) It depends on the socket of you motherboard (the most the 478 will go to 3.4ghz)
2) your not going to see a big increase in performance by upgrading by 400mhz

k cause battlefield 2 is not running as good as it used to and i have 512 mb of ram should i upgrade and how much should i uprgrade to
i was thinkjing 2 or 3 gb

hows your video card? I woul think 1.5 gb system ram would be great with a ...6800

i have 400 to 600 to spend on my computer to upgrade it

and is this a good video card and will it work with my power supply i have a 305 watt

that is a lot to spend, probably more than you need for a graphics card alone. Post you entire system specs and we'll see what we can do

here are my system specs
dell 4700
pentium 4 2.8 with HT
512 mb of ram (upgrade to one or 2 gig)
160 gb harddrive
dvd player/dvd burner dual layer

and will those vidoe cards work with a 305 watt powersupply

dont upgrade to 3 gigs there is no point, at ELAST upgrade to 1GIG with another stick of 512(unless its 2x256 in there) or get 2gigs if you really want too, but i would just go with 1.
