Default Windows Server 2000 internet problem

Hi,

I am currently having a problem accessing the internet via our server. The internet is fine across the network, on the proxy and database servers, but isnt accessible on the main server. I am having no other issues, everyone can access the network, email, login, and access the internet, but when I try to open IE on the server, nothing happens. I go into 'internet properties' and am able to access all the tabs except when I click on the 'connections tab' IE crashes, I have to 'end the program now'. I tried going through the control panel to 'internet properties' but the same thing was happening. I am unable to login to e-policy console due to the internet not working, therefore am unable to recieve any mcafee virus updates.

The problem started when I shutdown the servers to install a new UPS. I didnt make any changes on the server. Turned everything back on, everything was fine except internet access on the server. I have restarted the server since then, but it hasnt helped. Not sure what to do?? Can anyone help me?

The following are the errors and warnings I recieved in event viewer:

error - service control manager - 7000
error - schannel - 36871
error - netlogon - 5774
warning - wusyncservice - 107
warning - w3svc - 101
warning - W32Time - 11
warning - nntpsvc - 101

Im stuck at the moment! Cant figure out whats wrong.

Thanks in advance!

the first thing you need to do is to try and work out what the problem is. Try installing firefox on it to work out whether its the browser or not. http://www.firefox.com
