Is there a special card you need to buy seperate to use the ILink cable?

It depends on what cards you already have installed, iLink is sonys name for the firewire or IEEE 1394 port, so if you have a firewire port you will not, but if not you will either need a pci card or laptop card, depending on whether you have a desktop/laptop PC
