CREATIVE Inspire P7800 7.1 Black Speaker System - good? and how should all the speakers be arrange?

The speakers should be angled towards the "seating position". Like in the pic I linked.

if only it was that simple to set up a 7.1 sound system. With my Logitech 5.1 speakers, i had to do a lot of adjusting to hear the surround sound right. Now if you hooked it up like it is in the picture, it would take up alot of space, not to mention it would be hard to get up.

OKAY i set things up but i am NOT getting any sound from the big square box am i suppose to? my 5.1 for my gaming consoles does have sound coming out of the subwoofer.

i notice there is this boom boom sound coming out of the big box. it get louder when i turn on the bass and also the sound is there but different when using a headphone.

The boom boom noise is the subwoofer, the only sound that should be coming out of it is very low and room shaking sound, nothing high so you can't really hear it, just feel it. As long as there is bass and not just high pitched noises coming out the speakers, they are fine.

you should hear bass coming out of the subwoofer, nothing else, if your listnening to something with no bass, nothing will come out.
