Default is the fx 5600 any good?

I got this card when I first built my system, Geforce fx 5600 256mb video card, and not knowing much about video cards I simply got this cause of prices, the 256mb and cause I heard the second number in the model # (6) refers to how good it is, like a 5900 i guess is better.

Well, what I'm wondering is if this card is much good for running some of the newer games today, like Ive been playing Doom3 with it and it seems fine, but I will probably get Half Life 2, and Battelefield 2. So is it worth replacing the card with something in the same price range and would I see much different performance?

You will maybe squeeze in High on HL2 (is it a Direct X 9 card???), but you will probably only get low-medium on BF2..... what settings are you running Doom 3 at??

Well, the FX5xxx series suck pretty hard, they're one of nVIDIA's worst when you think what they should have been able to do at that time...

Well if you dont think this a decent card for the suggested games I am going to play, could you suggest a good one in the same price range, and is better to have the 128 mb or 256 mb version, if it really matters.

id say go for a 6200 (the 128 bit version )
its in the same range, and is as fast as a 5700. but, it has 3.0 shader.
but thats only my opinnion

I thought the second number in the model reffered to how good it was, meaning a 6(2)00 wouldnt be as good as my 5(6)00? Or, I guess what would be the best card in the $150 range for my games, like a 6600 gt or something?

It jsut goes by the plain mode number. The 5xxx series is not as good as the 6xxx series, except for maybe the 6200 TC...
