Don't worry about it Fred, its alright that you don't know computers, we do so we are here to help!! : )

Like Sophocles said, you should still disable the realtek in the BIOS to make your new card the only one that sound will go out of.

Are you really gonna put this forum in the credits?? Cool..... ; )

You guys have been great. Just a few quirks here and there and I'm ready to go. Oh and I'm not sure what the rule is for posting sites, but here goes... for those interested, find me at www.vithereturn.com

You can hear some of my music and see what I'm trying to do with my computer.

so did you figure out how to get the sound working? I didnt disable my onboard sound, i wanted to make sure that you had the speakers plugged into the sound card, not theonboard card.

I did plug the speakers to the sound card, made sure that the audio would play from that source making the onboard unnecessary. My earlier question to anyone willing to help, is...I don't have a head phone jack to listen to music on the new soundcard or the speakers. is there an adapter I need, is there something I'm missing?

Upon further review, my audio cables are hooked up to the midi jacks and are playing the music. When I switched them into the audio jacks...it didn't work. What gives?
