Default Recording problems

I have a song in a online game that I want to download, and I am having trouble doing it. There isn't a way to download it, so I'm trying to record it as it plays on my computer. Can someone please tell me what i'm doing wrong?

I have an SB Live, and I am using Creative Recorder. I fire up CR and I set the "record from" option to "Wave." then I record while the song is playing. When I am done I go into the file and I get a version of the song with a lot of static. Is there a setting I can use to get rid of it or some other program I can use? Thanks for your help.

There is usually a noise remover type of tool usually in recording softwares, like Audacity or GoldWave....

I too have SB live, I never used the creative recorder, but I used the other peice of software that came with the drivers CD, I'm at work right now and can't remember what the software is called, but when I get home I'll post it. It always yeilded a clear sound for me

I have already tried audacity, but the static is too mixed in with the song, I can't select "just static"
