Default BF2/ video card PROBLEMS

On my other computer its a P4 2.6 Ghz with 512mb of ram and an ATI Radeon 9700 TX w/ 128mb DRR. I tried installing BF2 on it and it installed perfectly but when i try to start it up, the Battlefield 2 picture comes up and the screen goes blank then goes back to the desktop and just stays there? i really dont have any idea of what this could be. Could it be that i dont have the latest drivers for my video card or that i was running the disc from my DVD drive, becasue its in a dvd format(i think). I really could use some help.

Thanks

Default Yeah

DVD problem = not very likely. Driver problem = most likely. I would definitley grab the newest drivers available. Also check that your card is compatible. I have never heard of a 9700 TX .

You could try making the DVD/CD into an image using Alcohol 120%, or just copy files to your HD and try installing from there.. I had the same symptoms on another game and worked for me

Update drivers first though

BF2 is real sensative. It just crashes for me too, even though every other game runs smoothly for me.
