Ram Problems Help Please.

My friend has an ASUS k8ne deluxe mobo. he had 2 512mb of ram PC3200. He bought a 1gb of corsair. when he put the 1gb in with the other 512 and turn his computer on he gets an error "system error due to cpu overclocking ". his computer wont start. But the 1 gb works by its self. what could be the problem. his computer isnt overclocked.
