Default Dual Channel Problem...

Hello,

Well... this migth sound noobish but... here goes. I recently bought some new DDR Ram DDR400 1GB(512x2) PQI ram that is said to run at 2.5-3-3-7. So i shove them in loaded up the PC checked CPU-Z... it says Dual channel but the speeds came up 3-4-4-8! So I went over to my friends house he has the same setup as me. MOBO: ASUS P4P800 E-Deluxe. Checked his and it said 2.5-3-3-6... Now its either jsut me or my Dual channel Ram is running at a single ram speed... this really sucks... lol

Well... any help to solve my problem wil be most appreciated. Thank You

link to ram. the cas 2.5 and 3.0 tell you nothing about dual channel. download everest home edition and check your memory bandwidth. should be 6.4 gb/s

Default Yeah

All it tells you are the timings of the memory. The smaller, the better. Either your processor does not allow better, or your motherboard does not allow for better timings.

The RAM is probably running on the timings listed by SPD, go into the bios and manually set them to what they should be. My Corsair RAM does the same thing.
