they work fine without a fan but work even better with a fan, as long as there is some air movement in the case then it should be ok, there isnt really a need to get a dedicated fan on them.

Yeah you do not need any fan blowing on them. Besides RAM does not heat up much. All that the heatspreaders do is enlarge the surface area for heat dissipation.
