Default formating spacer.gif picture to jpeg

I am trying to copy a picture with a "spacer.gif" to stop people from copying it. I want to copy the picture into my file and change it to JPEG. Everytime I copy with SAVE AS or just COPY it goes in to the file BLANK. How can i copy it from the original picture and put it in my file as JPEG.
