Please help me out quickly on this one, I have to scan a lot in this weekend with my company's scanner just bought home.
The problem is that during installing the driver, the hardware wizard tells me that there was a problem: "The class installer has denied the request to install or upgrade this device" and I can't use the scanner.

Here are some more info:
- scanner model: Canon LiDE 30
- OS: WinXP SP2
- mobo USB drivers ok, working perfectly with other USB devices
- downloaded the latest driver from Canon website
- no viruses on computer
- tried installing the driver as administrator (in fact there's only a single user with administrator rights)
- tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver with no luck
