Default building new comp need ideas

im about to build my second comp. the one i have now is decent. nothing to brag about. anyhow this next one is mainly for gaming and design(im a cad technician and use various design programs, heavy on the 3d aspect). i would just like some input on good quality components. im partial to gigabyte mobos and nvidia graphics cards. that i do know i want. the question is what brand nvidia card to get. there are so many and im unsure of the rep for brands. lm dont really need help with deciding on what kind of mem(atleast 1 gig will do fine i think), hard drives, disc drives, case, etc. i pretty much know where to go with that. however i would like input on a good mobo(was thinking about gigabytes GA-K8N ultra), Videocard of course, power supply, proc(dont need the very best just a good one for the money). i would like to get a 7 series nvidia but i was think would a 6 series oc'ed with unlocked pipes perform equal or better? money isnt an issue but i would prefer to save if i can. any input would be mush appreciated.

is there a reason you want a geforce 7800? if you aren't playing any high demanding video games you probably want to stay away from the video card.
