Default Seperate HD for OS?

I once heard the most efficient systems had 2 HD's, one for OS and the other for Programs and Storage.

With the Large External S ATA Hard drives I have I am wondering if I should consider 2 internals and seperate the OS and Programs or is this overkill?
I do use my externals for storage and back ups.

Well... Personally, I seperate the OS from my documents, music, some porgrams, etc, just so if you have to format, and reinstall, you don't lose all of your files!

Some people prefer it all on 1 drive because it is easier to navigate, and find your stuff, but personally, I still think its easier on seperate drives!

I actually have like 5 partitions.. on 2 drives: 1 for OS, 1 for apps, 1 for music, 1 for all my business stuff, and 1 for games
