Media Center

Hey All,

My Mom has just purchased a media center laptop (complete with the remote), and I was wondering if I could make use of the remote with my laptop.

I dont have media center XP on mine, just regular XP home, but I do have an integral IrDA on the front of my laptop.

Is there any software I can get to turn my laptop into a media center PC, without getting additional hardware, and without getting Media Center XP (though I believe you cant buy this!)
