Sorry, I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for this topic.
I have a new friend. He's great, he instantly shuts down Task Manager whenever I open it (which I do each time I startup, to close unnecessary processes). I have several other malicious processes which need to be closed, and this particular one not only prevents me from doing that, but prevents me from being able to delete it even if I knew its filename, which I don't. Does anyone know what bug/trojan/worm this might be, and what the filename of the exe is? |

If/After you get the virus fixed, you may just want to save yourself some time by not having to close processes right at startup
Goto RUN Enter 'msconfig' (w/o quotes, works on XP Home for me) Goto the 'Startup' Tab Look at the 'command line' of the programs starting up (to give you an idea what program is starting up) Remove the programs you want to remove If your unsure it's safe to remove a specific program, goto google and search the name as it appears in the 'Startup Item' field. Look for a page by LIUtilities and it should give you sufficient information on what the program does. |
