Default is there a problem with x64 and microsoft keyboards ?

hi my new computer is :
cpu : AMD Athlon 64 (3500+) - 512 Cache [939 PIN]-Venice Core
mobo : GA-K8N Ultra-9
ram : samsung DDR 512MB 400MHZ
graphics card : Diamond Viper X800XL 256MB PCIe
case : Sunbeam Acrylic
hard drive : 40gb wd (from my old computer)
cd : 52x
windows: xp 64bit

now my question is , whenever i reset or shutdown my computer when i start it up again the keyboard wont work it has an error in the device manager (error 10).
so i uninstall it and reinstall it and the it works . but that is a lot of work to do every time i reset .
the keyborad is a microsoft multimedia keyborad 1.0A
i tried the drivers on there site and it wouldn't work (because of the 64bit )
so could someone pls help me ?
