Default Bootvis Disk I\O warning message?

Hi Just found out about Bootvis to speed up my boot process, it was taking 85 sec, but now got it down to 45 sec. In the Disk I\O window it comes up with a warning message: (disk write caching is disabled)?
I wonder what this is and if I enable it what will it do?
And where to find it?? I have looked but seem to be going blind at the moment.
And could you tell me why it took so long to boot up??
Did I do something wrong in the past??

Any help gratefully received..

Neil..
