Default Need HDD help ASAP!

ok.. ill give ya a little history..
first off i have a 80 gig western dig. hard drive formatted with ntfs and no partitions.. heres where the problem is.

i got partition magic to help me partition my HDD and it was all down hill from there.. first problem was i followed the instructions and tried to partition it. the computer restarted and started the partion step and about a half hour later i looked at it again and it had some errors saying it didnt work.. so i was like o well.. well i went to reboot my computer and it would load normally until the windows xp loading screen and then it would flip to the blue screen of death for a fraction of a second then restart and it would continue doing this..
so i knew it was a HDD problem. so i detached my harddrive and pluged it into my other computer.. it read that it had another drive attached but when i would go to open it it would say that the parameters arent correct or something like that. so i could view my files.
all i want to do is get some of my files off the drive then i can reformat it..
well i downloaded some recovery programs and they could browse the hard drive and i could see my files but it wouldnt let me recover them unless i spent 80 bucks.. so can anyone help me with my problem@!?? please i would really appreciate it.
thank you very much
nate
also if you have more questions concerning the situation just ask please! thanks
nate

that program works but.. not how i need it too.. that brings up all the files i have deleted over the life of my hardrive mostly temp internet files and what not.. i need a program or a way to access all the information on my hardrive ..the info is still there and wasnt deleted when i try to open the harddrive.. its says..

F:/is not accessible

the file and directory is corrupt and unreadable..

when i have used programs such as file scavenger it shows everything on my harddrive but it says that i have to pay to be able to obtain it..
