Default ATI AIW 9800 Pro - SmartGARD says AGP is off

When I goto
Control Panel -> Display -> Settings -> Advanced -> SmartGARD
it says AGP is off.
I own the ASUS P4S800, which is AGP 8x compatible, yet I'm curious if I'm getting the full use out of my card when I play games (SWG, CS:S, etc).

If I'm not, how would I go about activating my card to make use of the AGP features? Or am I misinterpreting the info?

If you have your card seated in your AGP slot and you are seeing imagery on your monitor, its on. Whether its running at 4x or 8x is another question.

Says Not Available. I'll try fiddling around with the BIOS and researching a bit.

Okay I' installed a driver off the Motherobard CD and now dxdiag is saying it's enabled

It's also reading as 8x in the first window I described.

And to think all I do is play games and I've never used AGP 8x before lol

Well it seems that my computer crashes now when I use it. I've turned it off, and that seems to fix it.

I've had nothing but problems with catalyst and their multimedia center. Oh well. They have another few years till I upgrade again to get their act together.
