Do you know if Dell charges tax on online purchases to Illinois and if so what % rate?

yes everywhere charges sales tax besides the some of the worthless states hehe jp. they charge 6.25% i believe. and i did call dell. purchasing your own ram doesnt void the warranty.

I was also considering getting something on ebay, mabye used with a warranty or something that was on display with a warranty....This Vaio seems to have similar specs to the dell (20GB extra on the hard drive too) at a very similar price...please let me know what you think about this laptop or if you have other suggestions for used or ebay..

this particlar vaio auction ended for $911 incl. shipping and the dell would be like $921 incl. everything. Would you say this is a better computer than the dell?
