i have logitech x-530 5.1 surround sound speakers. My front left and right speakers work fine. nice and loud. My two rear speakers emit sound, not as loud as the fronts, a little tiny bit fuzzy. My subwofer is beautiful. However, my front center speaker emits NO sound what so ever. I installed all teh drivers, changed the settings to 5.1 surround sound, and i have tested all teh speakers with teh cd individually. The center one emitted no sound during the test. Is the speaker dead?
i just tested a 5.1 surround sound encoded dvd and non eof the voices came out of the speakers so i am assuming that the front cetner speaker is responsible for that. I have an Audio Excel 6 channel PCI sound card.

Could be either a bad set of speakers or a bad soundcard.

Try running a testone, where your sound card, or some device send singals to each speacker seperately and emits a sound. this will tell you if the speakers are all working. If one doesnt work, check the connections, and make sure you are using the correct cabling and ports on the sound card for 5.1 output.

Ya cuz some sound cards (notably Audigy series), doesn't have the color coding for their input jacks, so make sure that you have the cables connected in the right place.

i have the same speakers. mine work fine, the rear speakers should be a little dimmer, thats how it usualy is with surround sound. Fuzz is a different story, it mite be the spakers or sound card, what kind of sound card do you have. for the center speaker, it isnt supposed to play music. mine does but its so dim that the volume is lower that the center speakers. test it by playing a game or movie.

please read the whole post before replying ^^ i have stated the sound card type, and i have already done a tone test and stated that the front center speaker emits no sound. The front center speaker and teh subwofer plug into the same plug in on the sound card (it is color coded and everything matches up). The subwofer works, and the front center does nto so it is not the sound card.

jman, on my z-5300 speakers, on the back of the subwoofer there is a switch that says "5.1, 4.1, and 2.1", make sure that the 5.1 is selected, and not the 2.1. This could be your problem. And just a note the rear speakers are suppose to be quieter, mostly because of the cord length.
