what is the average temp for a 3ghz prescott at idle?

there sint an average temp. the temp would be decided by the room temperature, the amouintof fans you have etc

A good average temp at idle would be around 35c, somwhere within 10 digits +/-.

If its a 478 then your looking at low 40's and on the 775 model 630 they are around 29-31. It all depends on the room temperature.

2000 c!!!!!!!!! just kidding, a P4 pressHOTT get pretty hott, they will run fine though. a presscott wil idel around 45c with some of the coolers iv tried, just depends on allot.

Prescott only have heat issues on the s478, they sorted it out for the 775

Uh i idle at 30C and burn at 38C.

Even then a simple aftermarket [good] cooler will keep the temps quite contained

Praetor they sure did fix that heat issue. I'm even thinking of geting one.

He knows they fixed it, he is just saying that a good cooler would solve the s478 probs
