Image Comparison

Here is the Problem.
I need to be able to determine brush strokes from an artist that has painted in oils. By compiling a database, of known works by the artist, of digital images, what software is available to compare these images and how valid is the comparison?

You mean a software capable to distinguish between authentic and fake paintings? If yes, read this for start: http://www.cs.dartmouth.edu/~farid/p...ons/pnas04.pdf (you might contact the paper's authors at the e-mail address listed at the bottom of first page).
