Default video controller (VGA Compatible) help...

I recently formatted my computer. My computer is a Compaq Presario S5000CL. But before i formatted it i got all the drivers from the compaq website. Out of all of them two things werent installed. They are Multimedia Audio Controller and video controller (VGA Compatible). i got the multimedia audio controller to work. But for some reason when ever i move around a window it kind of strobes. im pretty sure it has to do with the video controller (VGA Compatible). Can anyone help me with this or at least give me a correct driver. thanks in advance....(if it helps everything in the computer is stock)

Do you have a specs sheet on the machine? If not, wcpuid should tell you your video chipset. Or, you could just pop open the case and look around for the chips.

ya, you dont have the drivers. a sure sign of a lack in drivers is SLOW 2D control, like as you said moving windows and scrolling. do this, should fix it...

1 right click my computer
2 properties
3 hardware tab, then click device manager
4 you should see a yellow sign next to your display driver
5 right click it and hit update driver

let it search on the internet. or you can search on the compaq website for the drivers for your machine. better yet, lemme get you a link. (next time build a computer, but anyway here we go)

^^ search on this page for some display drivers, or video drivers, its the same thing.
