Default Desktop Problem PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!

i have recently purchased a medion desktop computer...its been working fine for a week...but when i turned it on recently it got stuck on "intel inside logo" for about 5 mins then changed into a black screen saying "disk boot error, insert system disk and press enter" i have been told it could be a broken motherboard. but i need 2 use the computer as soon as possible and cant wait weeks for a new 1 2 b delivered. this is very frustrating! i am quite as technophobe and arnt experienced in computers that much...... so if anyone has a solution could they please but it in simple terms.

(i have also tried starting it up without peripherals plugged in, and i cant enter safe mode as it wont get that far and just gets stuck)

if anyone can help i would be very grateful
thanks

Matt

Go into the BIOS and remove all other drives except the HDD from the boot list and see if it will boot. If it won't, then there's possibly a problem with the OS or a piece of hardware.

In a pinch, you can always buy a motherboard from a store yourself and avoid delivery time
