Default Bare Bones Kit

I'm building my first computer and thought I'd go with a bare bone kit to take some of the work out of it for me. I come across this at Tiger Direct ( http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...=C460-1022%20Q ) and was wandering if it's a good starting point? I do mainly multimedia...no games. Also, I'm going to run 2X Maxtor DiamondMax 10 300GB ATA-133 HD's if I can? Too, I wanting to run a DVD-Rom drive (brand unknown yet) and a NEC 3520A burner. Will I be able to use "DMA" on all of these drives with this kit?

Its all right but not the best by any meens. Socket A processers are umm ok to say the least but. How much are you willing to spend on this computer?

that doesn't look bad for the price. however i would be tempted to steer clear of any socket A system as they are not being produced any more which would make upgrading a little more difficult / expensive.

You are able to however you should be aware of a potential problem as outlined here

Yes you should be able to.

For $180 you're getting a pretty nice setup although there are a few things you should be aware of:
1. The PSU included with the case probably isnt the greatest and while this isnt specifically a cause of major concern (depending on how bad the PSU really is), it may interfere with system stability if you should choose to upgrade components later on
2. The AthlonXP is a discontinued product. While this doesnt detract from the value of the purchase, do realize that AMD is no longer making products compatible with the socketA platform

I was hoping to get by under $800...
- AMD Sempron 2800+ [SDA2800AIO3B0, $75]
- Gigabyte GA-K8NS [nf3-250, $65]
- Corsair ValueSelect 2x512 [CL2.5, $90]
- 2x Maxtor DiamondMax10 300GB [16MB, $250]
- Xclio 450W [12V@32A, $50]
- XFX GeForce MX4000 64MB [$30]
- NEC 3540 [$40USD]
Subtotal = $600

This is a baseline system with plenty of maneuvering room for a case, keyboard etc

I'm scraping the bare bones idea so I can get what I want the first time. What's the best mother board for multimedia use and that will work with 2x large hard drives? If I get the better now it will not need to be updated so soon...I hope.

This is the case I'm going with...I think. Any opinions are welcome.
