I just got a thinkpad r31 and I upgraded it to XP Pro but when I did the volume buttons at the top had no effect (the mute button still worked). I have sound and can only adjust volume output in control panel. On the previous OS (XP Home) I could ajust the volume normally (buttons) and green bars would appear at the bottom of the screen to indicate the level. Now those are gone and all that happens is it makes a small beep but does nothing to control the volume. Ive looked on google but all I come up with is stuff about Linux. I think I need an Intel driver or something but I cant find anything. I have an Intel 830M chipset w/e that means. WTF!?! I know nothing about this and really need to get it to work, any and all info on this would be great (especially from thinkpad r31 owners) thanx alot
