Default bmp to jpg?

Hi
I've downloaded a photo viewer (Jalbum) to put on my website but it only reads jpg or gif files. Is there any way I can convert my bmp files?
Thanks for your help!

ya, open up the bmp file in Microsoft Paint, then click file>save as> type the file name and select JPEG instead of BMP.

no, there is no difference, its not case sensitive. does it give you any errors? maybe there is a file size limitation?
