Default Buying Original Windows XP software

hi all,

If I want to buy windows XP as my backup CD (I am using windows XP professional version now, and this current OS software is from someone else. I buy to have a backup cd), which version should I choose? professional or home edition? Which type should I buy? there is one that is "upgrade from windows 95, 98" and there is one that is "upgrade from windows 2000, windows ME".

Rgds

The upgrade version works only if you have either an installation or the older discs (not sure if older "upgrade" discs work).

The non-upgrade versions you can use without the restriction of having an older version of windows.

Between home and and pro, decision is yours depending on your needs:
