Default out of range

i just hooked up my new computer but the screen says out of range ,everything goes right until the loading bar of windows xp en then he says out of range what does this mean

Probably the monitor doesn't support the videocard's signal current horizontal or vertical frequency. Lower the screen resolution in safe mode.

usually the message "out of range" appears if the monitor isn't plugged into video card, but if you see windows loading then i don't know what's wrong

Usually the message would be "no signal" in that case.
