Default Computer processor question

Hi all and hope you can advise

I have an AMD Athlon (tm)64x2dual Core Processor 6000+ on an ASrock K8NF6G-VSTA motherboard.

At the moment I have running on it Windows XP Professional 32bit as the operating system.

As I now have a windows7 professional 64 bit disc. Do I have to do anything to the computer other than just insert the windows7 disc to get the computer to run in its 64 bit mode.

Your help will be most gratifully received

The Athlon 64 x2 6000+ is a 64bit Cpu so your set to go there..
just pop in the disk,go into bios and change boot order to read from DVD Rom first,Then Hard drive second

Then it should read from the disk, and you can install.

You do have to do a clean instal not just upgrade. I am sure you found that out by now.
