Default PCI-Express adapter

My PSU doesn't have a 6-pin PCI-Express connector so I decided to buy a 2 4-pin molex to 6-pin PCI-e adapter. Will having the adapter decrease the performance of my 7800gtx? Would it be better buying a new PSU that has the PCI-e connector?

It shouldn't lower the performance unless the PSU is old and has low amps, which in this case it wouldn't be the adapters fault. The 7800GTX is very high-end and will need a very good Power Supply.

I would recommed buying a new PSU. Older PSU's have lower amps and lower wattage. I am personnelly recommending a Hiper Type R 580W SLI edition or any SLI certified PSU.

i've got a ultra 600 watt +12v=29A
planning to upgrade to ASPIRE ATX-AS500-BL though. That has 34A at +12v rail!
