Default Freeware suggestion's for a clients PC.

I'm setting up and fixing peoples PC's now, it first started with my friends dad and his, he told some people and now i get calls everyonce and a while.

Basicly almost everyones probelem is virus spryware and crap like that, this persons prablem is horrid and it wont even boot, everything has something wrong so im doing a reformat and reinstall everything.

Does anyone have any suggestion's for freeware for virus protection, spywayre protection and parental controls?and i dont want to install 15 things like 4 for each becuase each program has something the other doesn't either if possible.

Thanks.

Basic Malware Prevention

Enable Spybot's Immunise and TeaTimer features, you can also set restrictions in the Settings.
