boot error..HELP!!!!
my computer was working fine until today when i booted it up. It says "Booting from CD" then it says "Loading GRUB stage 1.5, please wait" then it says "error 17". Then it won't go anywhere from there... HELP!!! And theres no CD in the CD drive.

am i to assume you have linux installed, and windows on a seperate partition,
are you using grub to offer a os menu on boot up, if so what does your grub.conf file look like

do u have a floppy drive??? take that out if there is one.

i once had xp installed and linux on another partition. Then i got rid of linux and changed that partition to a logical drive. And i have no idea what the grub is it just popped up for the first time ever...
nope dont got floppy.

uh...virus that says grub loading?
ok i know what's wrong. I deleted the linux partition without ever tellling grub that it's gone. So now grub is searching for ubuntu even though its not there anymore. Now anyone know how to fix it? PLEASE HELP!!
